THEHUMANNEQUIN TO TAKE PART IN REPUBLIC POLYTECHNIC BLOGGER CHALLENGE 2012
A Lifestyle Blog, Ranging From Fashion & Beauty to Health and Entertainment

Singapore, 17 January 2011:
THEHUMANNEQUIN is a lifestyle blog created by a team of six students from Republic Polytechnic (RP). The blog which was set up as one for the requirements for students undertaking Module 312 Writing for the Web will be one of the contesting blogs for RP Blogger Challenge 2012.

The compulsory challenge is aimed at promoting excellence in Web Writing and will feature a few of Singapore’s most prominent bloggers that will judge participating blogs on criteria such as:
  • Originality of blog content
  • Ingenuity of blog
  • Vibrancy and appeal of blog
  • Interaction with readers of blog

THEHUMANNEQUIN is certainly marking their signature statement in making their blog unique. Comprising three sub topics such as fashion and beauty, health and entertainment, the lifestyle blog has over 80 likes in their official Facebook page.

As form of revitalizing their reader’s interest, THEHUMANNEQUIN conveys their message through a simple tagline such as “life with a pinch of style...”

“Their blog articles are straight forward and motivating and the videos that they upload makes me come back for more” quoted Hasinah Wahab, a reader who frequents their blog.

Being a group of student bloggers, juggling their time with school and blogging can be a challenging mission to accomplish. Shermaine Lee, Co-editor of the blog quoted “All six of us will make it compulsory to stay back after school at least thrice a week in order to gauge and discuss about the progress of our blog.”

As a result of the high amount of bloggers competing, THEHUMANNEQUIN has developed a different approach so as to retain readership and interest them.
Instead of obtaining information online and posting it on the blog, the unique selling point of THEHUMANNEQUIN is entirely based on personal experience.

“Because we are competing against many other bloggers, we decided to use personal experiences, as not only have we experienced it personally, readers can also be assured of its authenticity and credibility,” said Charissa Selvasekaran, Editor of Thehumannequin.
Ranging from attractive prizes such as vouchers and books, Thehumannequin is set to compete with two other competing teams from the class.
